The dollies are done !!
Katharine, Michele, Sonia and I have finished our dolls for the children of The Abundant Ground orphanage in Haiti!
We were all looking for a way to help the people of Haiti in the aftermath of the January 12 earthquake, and like many of the crafters contributing to this dolly drive (hosted by Sarah over at Dolly Donations) we took to our fabric and sewing needles.
Here are the fabulous results...
I'd like to thank Jhoanna Monte for posting a link to Sarah's doll drive over on her lovely blog One Red Robin. A hugely talented crafter and blogger (and assuredly many other things), Jhoanna hails from Melbourne, Australia and I've been following her blog since I started making dolls.
I think that it is a true testament to the powers of blogdom that four girls in Halifax, Nova Scotia have made and are preparing to send four dolls to an orphanage in Haiti, via the Abundant Ground Foundation in New York, as a result of Jhoanna, a blogger in Melbourne, Australia featuring a post on a dolly drive hosted by Sarah in Arizona, United States.
Impressive.
Here, and I thought I didn't get out enough.
Please check out Sarah's page for information on the Dolly Drive and it's progress. The dolls have to be in New York by the end of the month for shipment to Haiti, so there's still time to join in the fun. Also, Sarah has a link on her page to view photos of all the dolls that have been contributed to the drive by crafters from across the globe. They are all so sweet!
Thanks Sarah !!

Awesome work ladies! The dolls you have made are gorgeous, as are the dollies you have made for your etsy shop - really sweet! Thanks for your lovely message and I am glad to have helped spread the word. Your dolly recipients will love them!
